Buffalo Bills sign defensive end Von Miller to a six-year contract

It was just 10 years ago , that the Buffalo Bills made a big splash in the free market by signing Mario Williams to a $100 million contract. A decade later , the Bills have signed one of the best defensive players available, agreeing to a 6-year contract together with the former Los Angeles Rams pass rusher Von Miller.

As per Aaron Wilson with Pro Football Network the contract is worth a maximum of $120 million. It comes with $52 million of guarantees and the deal pays $53 million over the initial three years.

Miller spent the majority of his time playing for his team the Denver Broncos after they drafted Miller in the second round in 2011. Miller would stay for 10 years before being traded in the 2012 season with the Los Angeles Rams.

Von Miller would play a key part in the Rams winning their playoffs by securing four sacks during the playoffs. He also played a key role in helping them to win their first Super Bowl over the Cincinnati Bengals. Miller currently leads the NFL with active players in sacks, with 115.5 which is a number which he could improve upon at Western New York.
Buffalo Bills get that top edge rusher in the league to improve their defense

It was a fact that the Buffalo Bills had one of the best defenses in the NFL however one area where they struggled with was the constant pressure on quarterbacks. This was a problem for some time as well. The Bills have signed a variety of players to play the position, but were not able to find the quarterback that defenses had to be accountable for.

This is exactly the kind of player Von Miller can be for this defense and can help relieve some pressure from the young players like Greg Rousseau, Boogie Basham as well as Ed Oliver on the interior. It's not surprising that the previous two Super Bowl Champions, the Rams last year and the Bucs the year before were able to put constant pressure on quarterbacks.
